Peter Lodato
Paintings
This renowned LA artist began his career in the Light and Space movement. Twice awarded grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, Peter Lodato has exhibited at PS1 and the Whitney Biennial. His career as an educator has included teaching at Otis/Parsons Art Institute, Art Center College of Design, and California Institute of the Arts. His work can be found in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, the Seattle Art Museum, and the Dallas Museum of Art.
In his work, Lodato occupies the border between perceptual and conceptual space. He actively reduces his paintings to their minimal forms before reinvigorating them with a distinct sense of presence. Subtle notes of surprising color emerge then vibrate between physicality and illusion, dark and light, top and bottom.

We are proud to show his work with the kind collaboration of William Turner Gallery. Peter Lodato's work does not clamor to be understood. Instead it asserts a quiet presence that only a master can achieve.
